DampApp Pro lets you add an estimated cost to each repair you recommend, from a library of standard damp, timber, condensation and ventilation items or your own. The report totals them in a clear table, with VAT if you need it, and your independent surveyor disclosure beside them.
Estimated costs your client can act on
Clients ask what the works will cost before they ask anything else. On a survey’s Essential Costs screen, load the standard items that fit what you found, from a chemical damp-proof course or salt-resistant replastering to a positive input ventilation unit or gutter repairs, then adjust each price to your own rates. Mark anything that needs a specialist as Seek Further Advice, hide a price you would rather not show, and switch on VAT. The total on the survey screen, the report and the PDF always agree, and long descriptions wrap in full rather than being cut short.

Frequently asked questions
Can a damp survey report include repair cost estimates?
Yes. On a survey’s Essential Costs screen, switch on Include Cost Summary and add the works you recommend, each with a price. The report and the PDF print them as a summary of estimated costs near the end, totalled in your region’s currency. They are estimates for budgeting, not a quotation.
Which standard items are included?
Load Standard Items offers about 90 typical jobs in eight groups: damp proofing, timber treatment, condensation and mould, leaks and water ingress, ventilation, external maintenance, internal works and finishes, and surveys and inspections. Search the list, tick what you need, and change any description or price to match your own rates. Add custom items for anything else.
What if a repair needs a specialist to price it?
Mark the item Seek Further Advice. It prints without a price and is left out of the total, so the figure the client sees only adds up the works you have priced. You can also hide the price of one item, which the total leaves out, or hide every price so the report lists the works without any figures.
Can the costs include VAT?
Yes. Switch on VAT on the Essential Costs screen and set the rate, which starts at 20%. The report shows the subtotal, the VAT and the total, and the survey screen shows the same total as the report and the PDF.
Where does the independent surveyor disclosure go?
Write your independence statement once in Settings, Reports, and switch it on. It prints with the estimated costs near the end of every report, even one without costs. On each survey’s Essential Costs screen you can switch it off or reword it for that survey only, with Smart Build to help. Left blank, it never prints.
Do long cost descriptions get cut off?
No. Each description wraps onto as many lines as it needs, in the survey, on the report screen and in the PDF, and the price stays in its own column.
Is it included in the free app?
Yes. Essential Costs, the standard items and the disclosure are part of the free app. Pro adds Smart Build across every report, cloud sync and reports without the app’s branding.
